Rundale Palace Fun Fact: A fun fact about Rundale Palace in Latvia is that it was designed by the same architect who created the famous Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg, Russia—Bartolomeo Rastrelli. Rundale Palace is a stunning example of Baroque and Rococo architecture, often called the “Versailles of Latvia” because of its opulence and beautiful gardens. It was originally built as a summer residence for the Duke of Courland, Ernst Johann von Biron, in the 18th century!
